For those that may have missed the service, below are the words I shared.

My mom, whom I affectionately nicknamed Squirt when I was a teenager, was my best friend.  We talked nearly every day.

When thinking about what to say at the service, I was at a bit of a loss.  Simply said, to know her, was to love her.  Always happy, always smiling and always thinking about others above herself.  There was nothing that she would not do for her friends and family.

I am so grateful for all the incredible memories I have and for all the adventures we took together, especially our trips to Aruba for Thanksgiving, Maui, and Florida for Spring Break.  Even if we were not traveling to a beautiful beach, she made every gathering special, with our favorite meals, a new recipe to bake with the girls, or a new craft to make.  My girls could not have asked for a better grandmother.  She taught them so many things, most notably how to always think of others, frequently delivering freshly made baked goods to all the neighbors.  From her I learned to always look on the bright side of anything that happens in life and to seize every moment to make memories.

While she did many things in her life, her biggest accomplishment was being the glue for our family.  We are doing our best to make her proud by sticking together and continuing our adventures together.

Her greatest gift to all of us is showing us how to live life from the heart.  I am so grateful to all of her friends and family for making her journey full of love.

Riley wrote this for the service but was too emotional to share so we thought we would share her thoughts here.

“My Grandma, who you might know as a friend or a family member, was kind and caring.

I have a lot of memories with her and I am guessing you do too.

Today, I wud like to share some of my memories of there with you.

We would do crafts in the basement for as long as my would let us.

And bake on the kitchen counter. Some might be familiar with our strawberry-banana bread.

My grandma was very kind. I remember every year, she would make Christmas wreaths and donate them. She was so sweet and had the biggest heart.

Lastly, one of my favorite memories were our trips to the dollar store. I remember she loved to get endless supplies for baking and arts and crafts.

Those are just some of the few memories that I will never forget.”

We were blessed to know “Grandma Nancy”. She was so special to all of us. We cherished the time we had with her each year at the lake house. She welcomed all of us with open arms.
Grandma Nancy always had a cup of coffee waiting for me upon arrival. She made special dishes for all of us all weekend, including her famous chicken salad, biscuits abs gravy for breakfast and her infamous tacos. Every time we visited, she always had crafts and games ready for the kids. She was a selfless woman. Always caring about all of the others around her. I have a batch of her Christmas cinnamon candy on my counter, it reminds me of her all the time.
It was a great treasure to have spent so much time together. We will all treasure the memories, your hugs and smile forever. Love – The Farley family.

Always smiling , always happy and helpful and giving. I never saw her angry at anyone. She always looked at the positive side of life. She was a good Chester friend and kept me posted on Chester friends even after we both moved away from there. She was loved by so many friends and will be always missed by so many. If we are all feeling this loss — I can only imagine how much her family misses her.

First knew Nancy through our golf league. What a wonderful person ! We often spoke of our children & grandchildren since they were similarly aged. We commiserated & laughed together about grandchildren & their lives.
Nancy’s ‘wreath making’ gatherings were always a highlight of the fall.
I miss her especially when golf day or golf discussions occur. Keep Smiling friend!

Nancy was a warm, glowing light in the lives of those around her. Cherished mother and wife, beautiful homemaker, wonderful hostess at holiday parties and lake visits, an all around genuinely nice human. It was a joy to know her. She lives on in my mind.
