Dwayne “Dwaynie Boy” Fields was born on February 13,1957 in New York, New York to the late Leroy Fields and Leola Shiver-Fields.
Dwayne grew up and went to school in the Bronx, a borough of New York City and graduated from William H. Taft High School in January of 1975 – six months ahead of schedule. Dwayne was very smart and he received numerous scholastic awards all throughout his school career. One unique thing about Dwayne was that at a very young age he was able to identify the make and model of all cars that would drive by, adults were amazed.
After high school Dwayne was employed at the New York Office of Sears, Roebuck and Co. He worked there until Sears moved all of their offices to Chicago in 1979. He was offered the opportunity to relocate to Chicago but he declined the offer.
In the summer of 1983 Dwayne met the love of his life, Grace Brown. They were united in holy matrimony on December 24,1983 and were together for 36 years until she departed this Earth. Dwayne’s hope is to be reunited with his wife in the resurrection.
Dwayne had the opportunity to work for companies such as Apple and Barnes & Noble. He was most recently employed as a school bus driver at STA in Collegeville, PA. The students appreciated Dwayne being their bus driver and expressed that appreciation in little handwritten notes.
Dwayne was an avid reader. His natural curiosity made him research, read, and study a variety of subjects such as Egyptology. He was a great sketch artist. He had a great love for cats and he had 2 beautiful calico fur babies.
Dwayne made his transition from this life on Monday, November 17, 2025. He leaves behind to cherish beautiful and fun memories his sister Iris Fields-Clifton, brother-in-law, Earl Clifton Jr, nephew Earl Devon Fields-Clifton of Lynchburg, VA, great nephew Nova Messiah Clifton of Bronx, NY, cousin/brothers, Larry Jackson of Kingston, NY, Jesse Teasley of Lynchburg, VA, Damon Horton of Roosevelt, NY, cousin/sister Donna Jackson of New York, NY, cousin/big sister Reverend Bernice Horton Cooper of Fitzgerald, Ga, cousin/niece Traci-Shara Fields of Laurel, MD, and all of his cousins, family, and friends from coast to coast and north to south.
Celebration Of Life
Recorded Friday, February 13, 2026
Dwayne’s family invites you to view the celebration of life service & reception on his birthday to honor his life and legacy.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:”
2 Timothy 4:7 KJV.
To my cousin and sister Iris, my heart broke when I heard about Dwayne’s passing. We were very close growing up, as children and young adults. Our parents ensured we all spent time together. I recall family picnics and gatherings. Larry and I would spend weeks visiting in the Bronx, NY, while Dwayne, Iris, Uncle Lee, and Aunt Leola visited us in Germantown, NY. Larry and Dwayne often drew pictures of cars and trucks and came up with their own vehicle designs. They enjoyed talking about girls and having fun.
Dwayne was always a caring big brother to me. We shared conversation, laughter, and good times. I remember when we lived in Jamaica, NY, and Dwayne was learning to ride a bike something we laughed about for years.
As we grew older, our lives took different paths. Dwayne married the love of his life, Grace, and they moved away, so we lost contact. Still, his other cousins and siblings stay in touch despite the miles between us. My big brother, Dwayne, you are now with your beloved wife, Grace, your parents, Leroy and Leola Fields, and others who have passed. You will reunite with the rest of the family in heaven. Dwayne, you will be missed, and may you rest in eternal peace.
Love you forever,
Cousin/Sister Donna
