Jose “Jojo” Sebastian Escobar, 78, passed away on September 1, 2026, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig City, Philippines, following a brief battle with cancer.
Jojo was born March 19, 1948 in Binakayan, Cavite, Philippines. He was the third child of the late Pastor Escobar and the late Gertrudes Sebastian Escobar. At age 21, he left the Philippines and joined the United States Coast Guard, serving faithfully for 20 years and retiring in 1989. Jojo made his home in New England and Georgia with his beloved late wife of more than 28 years, Flordeliza Orquiola Escobar, whom he married in 1974, and their two sons. After his wife’s passing in 2003, and after nearly 18 years in the workforce, he retired in 2007.
