Irene Carol Jones, a vibrant and cherished soul, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on April 15, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York, Irene was a beacon of joy and creativity whose spirit touched all who knew her.

Irene was the beloved widow of Robert Lee Jones, who predeceased her. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter and warmth. Irene’s legacy is carried on by her devoted daughter Patricia, her granddaughter Heather, and her two great-granddaughters, Madison and Sophia. They will forever treasure the countless memories shared.

Growing up in Brooklyn, Irene was one of five siblings, predeceased by her brothers Vincent and Walter, and her sisters Marion and Evelyn. Her upbringing in a bustling household instilled in her the importance of family, a value she cherished throughout her life. Irene’s home became a gathering place for family celebrations, especially during the holidays when she hosted festive gatherings that brought everyone together. Her warmth and hospitality created lasting memories for all.

A talented quilter and painter, Irene found solace and expression in her art. Her quilts, often adorned with intricate patterns and vibrant colors, were not only a testament to her skill but also a reflection of her heart. Each stitch was a story, each piece a memory, lovingly crafted and shared with family and friends. Her paintings, filled with life and color, captured the beauty she saw in the world around her, and she often gifted these creations to loved ones, spreading joy and inspiration wherever she went.

Irene had a unique passion for collecting carousel horses, each piece a treasure with its own story. She often shared tales of her finds, bringing her collection to life with her infectious laughter and spirited enthusiasm.

Spending time at the beach, particularly at Grand Shores in Florida, the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun brought Irene immense peace and joy. Many evenings were spent having a cook-out and socializing with family and friends around a table for late-night card games. These gatherings were filled with laughter, playful banter, and the creation of lifelong memories.

A lifelong lover of Disney, Irene made many trips to Disney World, where she reveled in the magic and wonder of the parks. Family vacations were often filled with Disney adventures, and she cherished the memories created with her loved ones during these special times. Her enthusiasm for Disney brought her family together for countless movie nights, where her laughter echoed through the room as she shared her joy with her great-granddaughters. Her love for Disney reflected her belief in the importance of dreams and happiness.

Irene Carol Jones will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, creativity, and laughter left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday October 25th, 2024, where family and friends will gather to share stories, laughter, and love, just as Irene would have wanted. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to cover medical expenses and memorialization efforts in her honor.

What a joy it has been to listen to these stories. Because I know and love Heather and her daughters, I know I would have loved this remarkable woman too. Sending love to all who are grieving this loss and celebrating this life.

Renee was such a big part of our family. When mom and dad made the move to Florida in 1985, Renee took my mom right under her wings. Together they would spend countless time together. Renee always made sure mom and dad were with them at the holiday time when they couldn’t be up north with us. Renee was more than mom’s best friend, she was like the sister she never had.
I personally will never forget Renee’s big heart and hearty laugh. Renee, you were certainly one of s kind. You will be truly missed.
RIP until we meet again. Love, Marie

My Auntie Renee was special. Although I was 8 years younger she always let me “tag along”. I was her ” Joanie girl” and she never made me feel that I was in the way.

My Auntie was everything – my mother, my sister, my auntie but always , always my friend Reneekins

We shared a lifetime of memories, both happy and sad but always.to be cherished forever.

Friday night was our traditional call and catch up time. Sometimes it was a quick chat other times we talked for hours.

Sadly, as the years unfolded my vivacious Auntie with the infectious laugh began to slow down. No longer could our Friday nite chats last for hours .

God, too, saw you were getting tired and He reached out his hand and took you Home.

Rest peacefully in His Loving Arms my Reneekins I will talk to you in my prayers on Friday night. With much love your “Joanie girl”
