Born on June 14, 1944, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Mike was one of five boys, maintaining close relationships with his brothers throughout his life.
Mike excelled in athletics, particularly basketball, during his years at Baton Rouge High School, and went on to play at Southeastern Louisiana University while studying Architecture and Computer Science. One summer, he worked on the Gulf as an oil refinery welder’s assistant and roustabout.
He proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant (SSgt) in the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, Ohio, where he worked as a Computer Operator Supervisor. While stationed there, he also played on the Base’s Championship Basketball Team, furthering his lifelong passion for the sport.
It was Fairborn that Mike met his wife, Paula Jean Maze, a teacher. The two married on June 17, 1972, in Fairborn, Ohio.
After his honorable discharge, he and Paula moved to Baton Rouge and he began working with Tymshare, a rising computer technology company, as an application consultant. His exceptional skill in revenue and sales earned him promotions, including a transfer to the company’s corporate headquarters in Palo Alto, California. Mike was honored to join Tymshare’s prestigious President’s Club, traveling to destinations such as Hawaii and Europe in recognition of his achievements.
After Tymshare was acquired by McDonnell Douglas, Mike was transferred to Georgia, where he contributed to major technological advancements. He later became a highly specialized consultant, lending his expertise to companies such as IBM, Lexmark, Lenovo, Boeing, BellSouth, Viacom, Disney, and many others.
Beyond his professional life, and after moving to Cumming, Georgia, Mike was deeply involved with his children’s activities, participating in Boy Scouts and Indian Princess programs, taking the family on numerous trips, several across the country and creating lasting memories. He especially loved to travel to Baton Rouge and indulge in Louisiana’s signature dishes including crawfish and oysters.
Mike is survived by his wife of 53 years, Paula; his daughters, Carrie Louise Greer (49) and Melissa Michael Reim (47); and three granddaughters, Farrah Kendell Greer (28), Sienna Rose Reim (16), and Madison Lily Reim (11). He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Robert “Robi” Michael Nason Jr., who passed on August 23, 2022, at the age of 42.
Mike will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his passion for sports, his brilliant mind in the world of computer technology, and his unwavering spirit of adventure. His legacy will live on in the lives of those he loved and inspired.

Dear Family and Friends,
I wanted to share a few words in memory of my brother, Robert Michael “Mikey” Nason
Robert Michael “Mikey” Nason
Robert Michael Nason, known to family and friends as “Mikey,” passed away recently, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love. He was one of five brothers — and one of the few still standing beside me, his older brother, until now.
Born two years after me, Mikey and I shared countless adventures growing up. Back in our pre-teen days, when all of us brothers lived under the same roof, Mikey was often the spark behind our little mischiefs. He had a knack for getting us into a bit of trouble — and just as much skill at helping us find our way out of it.
Mikey was a sharp mind, especially when it came to computers and data. He built a successful career doing what came naturally to him — making sense of the things that baffled others. His intelligence was matched by his good humor and down-to-earth nature.
Outside of work, one of Mikey’s greatest joys was sharing boiled crawfish with family. It was a tradition he, our younger brother David, and I tried to keep alive every year — gathering a couple hundred pounds of crawfish, rolling up our sleeves, and eating until we couldn’t anymore. Those were the good times, filled with laughter, stories, and that easy brotherly bond that only grows stronger over the years.
Mikey will be deeply missed — for his wit, his warmth, his talent, and the special way he made family feel like home. Though he may be gone, the memories we made — and the laughter we shared — will always remain.
With love,
William J Nason ( Billy )
