Dwayne “Dwaynie Boy” Fields was born on February 13,1957 in New York, New York to the late Leroy Fields and Leola Shiver-Fields.

Dwayne grew up and went to school in the Bronx, a borough of New York City and graduated from William H. Taft High School in January of 1975 – six months ahead of schedule. Dwayne was very smart and he received numerous scholastic awards all throughout his school career. One unique thing about Dwayne was that at a very young age he was able to identify the make and model of all cars that would drive by, adults were amazed.

After high school Dwayne was employed at  the New York Office of Sears, Roebuck and Co. He worked there until Sears moved all of their offices to Chicago in 1979. He was offered the opportunity to relocate to Chicago but he declined the offer.

In the summer of 1983 Dwayne met the love of his life, Grace Brown. They were united in holy matrimony on December 24,1983 and were together for 36 years until she departed this Earth. Dwayne’s hope is to be reunited with his wife in the resurrection.

Dwayne had the opportunity to work for companies such as Apple and Barnes & Noble. He was most recently employed as a school bus driver at STA in Collegeville, PA. The students appreciated Dwayne being their bus driver and expressed that appreciation in little handwritten notes.

Dwayne was an avid reader. His natural curiosity made him research, read, and study a variety of subjects such as Egyptology. He was a great sketch artist. He had a great love for cats and he had 2 beautiful calico fur babies.

Dwayne made his transition from this life on Monday, November 17, 2025. He leaves behind to cherish beautiful and fun memories his sister Iris Fields-Clifton, brother-in-law, Earl Clifton Jr, nephew Earl Devon Fields-Clifton of Lynchburg, VA, great nephew Nova Messiah Clifton of Bronx, NY, cousin/brothers, Larry Jackson of Kingston, NY, Jesse Teasley of Lynchburg, VA, Damon Horton of Roosevelt, NY, cousin/sister Donna Jackson of New York, NY, cousin/big sister Reverend Bernice Horton Cooper of Fitzgerald, Ga, cousin/niece Traci-Shara Fields of Laurel, MD, and all of his cousins, family, and friends from coast to coast and north to south.

I had the privilege of working with Dwayne at STA. He would drive my school bus and we became good friends. He had a great sense of humor and he loved the kids. It was an honor to know him. He will be missed.

Dwayne was a sweet man who always made a point of greeting you at STA whether on way to bus, back from run or just being nice. He is missed by all who made his acquaintance.
