Kathleen (Kathie) Marie Hall, 72, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away from cancer on February 6, 2024.
Kathie was born in Inglewood, California on September 18, 1951, the second child to Robert and Constance Barnes (both deceased), and was raised along with her 10 siblings in Lancaster, California. She graduated from Paraclete High School in 1969. Living and working at various locations in California, Kathie found her favorite job was working as a typesetter for several printing companies.
Kathie is survived by her husband, John Hall of Fort Worth. Through mutual friends, Kathie and John met at the Calico Saloon in Lancaster and fell in love in 1989 while John was temporarily assigned from General Dynamics Fort Worth Production Plant to Edwards AFB on the F-16 Flight Test Program. Once that program was completed, they relocated to Fort Worth and were married on May 12th, 1990 at The Best Little Wedding Chapel in Texas. They celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary last May.
Kathie and John had a soft spot for their beloved pets whom they treated like valuable family members. Their pets included their Cairn Terrier dogs, Beau and Johnny, and their cockatiel, Buddy.
In 1990, Kathie and John enjoyed visiting several countries in Europe. They also enjoyed traveling the USA in John’s Cessna 182, their motorhome, and their travel trailer. In 2015 they took a Princess Cruise to Alaska for their Silver Anniversary.
Kathie loved the theater, both to perform and volunteer her time. She was an usher at Casa Mañana Theater in Fort Worth. She also volunteered for SAWA (Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary) and participated in setting up their annual warehouse swap meet. She was talented in writing, painting and doing craft projects. She especially enjoyed collecting Christmas decorations, and had a marvelous array of Santa Claus figurines. Kathie also enjoyed music, she and John enjoyed playing their Street Organ and Accordion in their neighborhood on special occasions and would travel annually to Mountain View, Arkansas and Meridian, Mississippi to perform during the festivals there. They particularly enjoyed spending time with friends and neighbors, and made several trips to California to visit family.
Kathie is also survived by her many siblings: Ken Barnes (Barbara), Debbie Sigmund (Grant), Teresa DeGraw, Peggy Barnes, Gary Barnes (Diana), Marilyn Johnson (Tony), Diana Andre (Pete, deceased), Jim Barnes, Paula Neal (Brad), and Tom Barnes (Erin), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathie will always be remembered for her inspiring manner, her abundant kindness, her courage in the face of illness, and for always trying to encourage others and lift up their spirits. We will always remember her favorite practice of passing out printed cards to everyone, even strangers, that read: “You Matter.”
We all miss Kathie dearly. Her memory lives on in our hearts and in the hearts of those who loved her. Rest in Peace, dear Kathie.

Making a person feel special was Kathie’s specialty. I always felt thought of and loved by my sweet big sister. Love you so dearly Sis and miss your lovely smile and laughter. <3 Paula
Like so many others, I met Kathie through The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary. She was a delight! I loved her smile and kind attitude to everyone she met. She was a devoted volunteer, helping any way she could. Oh and the cards she handed out. Such a sweet, sweet soul. As we prepare for our yearly garage sale, we are already missing her cheerfulness and gorgeous smile. She would have been working diligently in the Women’s clothing section, sorting through donations, hanging up clothing to sell, and making all of us feel valued. She will be forever missed!
Aunt Kathie you will be so missed! It was always so wonderful having you and Uncle John come to visit us in CA-I loved talking about books and the world with you. Thank you for being so kind, and for always remembering your niece’s and nephews birthdays! We love you!
Dear sister Kathie. Thank you for the joy and laughter you’ve shared as time hastily passed. I’ll always remember your smile and the genuine love in your eyes. I’ll remember you especially every time I hereafter the song….”we are family..all my sisters with me”.
My Beloved Sister Kathie,

Kathie made me grin ear to ear, everytime I saw her. Her smile lit up the room wherever she worked. Never a bad word for anybody at any time. Her brightness is sorely missed but many of us try to bring up her loving ways and have fun in her honor. Her gift to us will live on, in the memories we can share ilof her bright smile.
Kathie and I were both ushers at Casa .I invited her to a meeting at SAWA and then she joined. she was such a sweet and wonderful lady. She will be missed.
I got to know Kathie through the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary. She was such a delightful person and I always enjoyed our conversations. Soon after we met, we discovered that we were neighbors several years ago and knew some of the same people. The last two years, we worked together checking people out at the Auxiliary’s annual garage sale. I’m going to miss working with her this year. Rest in peace, lovely lady.
