Virtual Celebration of Life For Dick Riemenschneider
Recorded Sunday, December 17, 2023
Dick’s family invites you to view the virtual Celebration of Life Service & Reception honoring his life and legacy.
Thank you for the opportunity to attend and be a part of the celebration of Dick’s life. Our condolences, love, and best wishes for all of the family and friends of this very special person.
I really appreciate your kind words and your wonderful story of Dick coming to your house after school. Over the years, your mother’s hamburgers that resembled large meatballs on a bunch came up frequently. Even though you and Dick didn’t get the opportunity to see each other recently, I am so glad that you were brave enough to share your feelings and clear up a misunderstanding. You were always a friend but his focus had been fighting a chronic health demon for himself and many others.
Love Martha

On Hanukkah, several years ago, our family received a package in the mail. We opened it to find all sorts of gifts for our family, but two stood out more than the others. 2 zebra-striped rubber duckies. One with an innocent halo and one with evil devil horns. Richard included a list of directions, however, when it came to the 2 ducks, we were instructed that my sister and I had to decide who was the “evil” ducky and who was the “good” one. To this day, when we take out our holiday decoration box, we see the 2 zebra duckies and laugh, as we get a chance to choose, and to this day, we still can’t decide… Since that special Hanukkah, Richard has been part of our holiday forever more. We miss you. May we get to reconnect on the other side…
Thank you for sharing this wonderful story of how Rich impacted your family. He greatly valued Richie’s support while on the Board. I know he will be waiting to reconnect with all his partners in crime. Meanwhile, he will continue to watch over all his friends.
Wonderful slideshow! Beautiful memories. I’ll remember Richard’s kindness and sense of humor.
Catherine thank you for your kind words. Thank you also for helping Rich to feel better and be healthier. The suggestions you had at the conference made a big difference and allowed him to have the early to keep helping lots of other people dealing with EDS.
Your family welcomed us, and made us feel loved. And then you generously helped us fix our vehicle and our cat’s eye. That is a chosen family to be so kind and helpful. We loved the day we got to spend at your home. And going out for a few meals. When we went to Olive Garden in July for Victoria’s Birthday. She said this is were we sat with Richard and Martha after they came to my performance. The night we went to the EDS gathering and then Richard stayed behind to stay with us while Victoria was in the ER. Or the chuckles of the pigeon pooping on my head when we were ar the EDS picnic. Richard will always be remembered for that mischievous gleam in his eyes, and laughter. I’m beyond thankful for the years we knew you. The small group we got to be a part of for a brief period. Sending all of our love.
