It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa Brown, who left this world on January 4, 2026, at age 68. Theresa peacefully departed from this life at the Wallace Broad View Funeral Home, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Born on November 12, 1957, at Cook County Hospital, Theresa was the beloved daughter of Elizabeth Wimes and Jimmy Brown. She spent her life in Chicago, Illinois, where she became a beacon of kindness and joy in the lives of those who knew her.

Theresa was a woman of remarkable character, known for her loving, gentle, and caring nature. Her family and friends were her world, and she had a unique ability to light up a room with her presence. Theresa had a wonderful sense of humor; she brought laughter and joy to those around her, often cracking jokes and sharing delightful stories. Her playful spirit made her a joy to be around, and she had a special knack for making everyone feel at home.

In her leisure time, Theresa found solace in music, often spending hours listening to her favorite tunes. She cherished long drives, where she could reflect and enjoy the beauty of life. Family gatherings were highlighted by her love for watching old TV shows and movies with her sons and daughters, creating lasting memories through simple yet meaningful moments. Her passion for the classics resonated deeply with her children, as they bonded over films that spanned generations.

Theresa leaves behind her two sons, George Brown and Kareem Brown, and her two daughters, Tiffany Brown and Santana Brown. Her love extended to her eight grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her two brothers, Derek Wimes and Marty Wimes, her sister Lawanda Wimes, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry her memory in their hearts.

Her absence will be deeply felt by her family, who remember her as a guiding light. “I wish we could trade places because I’d give my life just so you can continue on living,” her son George expressed, capturing the essence of their bond. The family believes that Theresa is now in a better place, embraced by God, and they find comfort in knowing her spirit lives on through them.

Theresa has rejoined her beloved mother, Elizabeth Wimes, her father, Jimmy Brown, and her aunts, Tina and Corrine Brown, along with her niece, Lisa Horn. Though she has departed from this world, her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will never be forgotten.

A funeral service will be held to honor Theresa’s life on January 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Wallace Funeral Home, located at 2020 West Roosevelt Road, Broad View, Illinois 60155. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, as they share stories and celebrate the beautiful life of Theresa Brown.
